TAUNTON — “Nobody is ever too old to get a tattoo,” exclaimed 70-year-old Marigrace Larabee about the "Tom Brady 12" tattoo she recently got on her arm.

Larabee, who is a resident at The Arbors Assisted Living in Taunton, thinks of herself as a “die-hard fan” and had been wanting a Tom Brady tattoo for years, saying she has “many fond memories” watching The Patriots with her late husband.

“He wasn’t opposed. When he was alive, he said I should get it,” Larabee said.

She added that since Brady retired, she hasn’t had the desire to watch football anymore.

Is this her first tattoo?

It’s not her first tattoo.

She has a small rose tattooed on one of her ankles that she got 25 years ago.

She said what has kept her, until recently, from getting another one was apprehension over having a bad experience because “most parlors, you hear a lot of rotten stuff about.”

Where did she have the tattoo done?

But when she mentioned her desire to get a Tom Brady tattoo to a staff member at The Arbors, the staff member recommended Pleasure in Pain Custom Tattooing on Broadway in Taunton.

“The staff at The Arbors is unbelievable. They brought me there,” Larabee said.

Artist Dana Morse did the tattoo.

"The man is fantastic. It was practically painless,” said Larabee, adding the tattoo took less than an hour.

Morse couldn't immediately be reached for comment for this story but in a photo taken by The Arbors of Larabee giving Morse the tattoo, he has a huge smile on his face and is giving two giant thumbs up.

How did her family react to the tattoo?

Larabee, who has two children and three grandchildren, said family and friends were surprised when she got the tattoo.

“My daughter was thrilled. Other people were surprised, saying they couldn’t believe I did it,” said Larabee, who worked as an activities coordinator for a rehabilitation center prior to her retirement.

Will she ever get another tattoo?

She said the experience has left her contemplating getting at least one more tattoo:  a heart on one of her upper arms, along with the name of her late husband, Dean Roger Larabee Jr., to whom she was married for 50 years.

What else is on her bucket list?

Another item on her bucket list is visiting Jamaica one more time.

“We loved it there,” Larabee said.

In the meantime, she said The Arbors keeps her busy every day with plenty of socializing and activities.

“It’s a big happy family here,” she said.
