NOH8 Campaign returning to Fresno, offering photo session to pose with signature tattoo, tape

The popular NOH8 Campaign, which promotes and raises awareness for marriage equality, is returning to Fresno for a quick photo shoot.

The event will be held Sunday from 2 p.m.-4 p.m. at the Hampton Inn Fresno Airport (no tickets or reservations required).

For $40, a person can have their picture taken with a NOH8 temporary tattoo on their face and mouths duct taped shut.

The NOH8 tattoo and duct-taped mouth symbolize voices being silenced by legislation that promotes anti-gay laws.

Photos with people posed with the signature look have become popular on social media over the years.

The project started in 2008 when Prop 8 first passed, thereby banning same-sex marriage, only to be later overturned in court.

Funds raised by the NOH8 Campaign are used to promote and raise awareness for marriage and human equality, as well as anti-discrimination and anti-bullying through NOH8’s interactive social media campaign.

Those looking to participate in the photo shoot are asked to arrive “camera ready,” with a plain white shirt to match the signature style of the NOH8 photos.

Co-founder Adam Bouska will photograph roughly 5-10 frames per person. One frame will be selected/edited by Bouska’s team and made available within approximately six weeks (timeline subject to change).

Recipient(s) gets one edited digital photo via NOH8 Campaign website (no physical prints are included).

The NOH8 Campaign also came to Fresno in 2012 and was well attended.
