Monday's game got started later than expected and it lasted longer than anyone would have guessed, but Nolensville is now just one win away from the U.S. Championship game in the Little League World Series.

Following a rain delay of more than two hours, Nolensville beat the Midwest team out of Hagerstown, Indiana, 5-2 in the first extra-inning game of the Little League World Series.

Hagerstown struck in the first inning after getting a pair on with no outs. Following a fielder's choice to get the first out of the inning, Hagerstown scored the game's first run on a sacrifice bunt.

Trent McNeil recovered from that run and struck out the next batter he faced, stranding the Hagerstown runner at second with Nolensville trailing 1-0.

Hitting for both teams was a problem early on as McNeil and Hagerstown pitcher Kaden Hall each were dominant on the mound.

Hall gave Nolensville batters fits during his 4.1 innings, striking eight of the first 10 batters he faced. He would finish the game only allowing two hits and striking out 11.

Nolensville finally got a hit off of Hall in the fourth inning as Drew Chadwick singled to deep center. Hall struck out the next batters he faced but a wild pitch brought home Wright Martin, who got on base earlier in the inning thanks to an error, and tied the game at one.

Hall would leave with one out in the fifth inning and after giving up a single as he hit the 85-pitch count. He was replaced by Heath Johnson.

Nolensville took advantage of Hall's exit as William Satinoff advanced to third on a wild pitch with two outs and was then brought in on a double by Bo Daniel, giving Nolensville its first lead at 2-1.

After Hagerstown got the leadoff runner on in the bottom of the sixth, Nolensville made the pitching change from McNeil to Jack Rhodes. McNeil pitched five innings, allowing only two hits and striking out eight.

Hagerstown tied the game at 2-all with no outs but Rhodes responded with a pair of strikeouts and Satinoff made a diving stop at shortstop to end the inning and keep Nolensville alive.

Rhodes and Satinoff would reclaim the lead for Nolensville in the top of the seventh as Satinoff got on thanks to a throwing error and Rhodes brought him in with a hard-hit single to center.

Nolensville added two more runs on a triple by Daniel and a fielders choice from Chadwick to take a 5-2 lead in the bottom of the inning.

Rhodes closed out the game with a 1-2-3 inning on a ground ball and a pair of strikeouts.

Nolensville will play the winner of the team out of Honolulu or the team out of Pearland, Texas, on Wednesday at 2 p.m. CT.
