Nolensville's future 18,000-square-foot fire station takes shape in new renderings

Nolensville's first full-time fire station is taking shape.

City officials reviewed schematic design plans, including new renderings, for the construction project at Monday's Board of Commissioners meeting. The 18,000-square-foot station will serve the rapidly growing Williamson County community.

Monday's renderings show a brick and stone building with tall red bay doors facing Haley Industrial Drive. The building would have work and study space for firefighters, a classroom-like training room, bunk rooms and an outdoor porch area.

Don't expect a fire pole, though: Like most modern fire stations, Nolensville's new building is set to be a single-story structure.

The city worked with several engineering and architectural firms, including Kimley-Horn, Compass Partners, TMPartners and Stanley D. Lindsey and Associates, to create the renderings. The schematic design phase is an early stage of design, and specific elements may change as the construction process continues.

The city still needs to complete design development, obtain construction documents and bid out project elements to contractors. That work is scheduled to be complete around Dec. 6, then the city can get to work on actual construction.
