Be More Award nominations accepted through March 5

The city of Bloomington and Mayor John Hamilton encourages all community members to nominate outstanding volunteers for the Be More Awards, the community volunteer awards presented by the City of Bloomington Volunteer Network, a program of the City of Bloomington Community and Family Resources Department. Award recipients will receive a $1,000 cash award provided by Community Foundation of Bloomington and Monroe County for the recipient's nonprofit organization in honor of their outstanding service. The Be More Awards are presented in partnership with Community Foundation of Bloomington and Monroe County, IU Credit Union, United Way of Monroe County, and WTIU Public Television. Shopping assistance

Your assistance will help ensure the highest possible quality of care for about 1,500 animals that WildCare Inc. cares for annually! Do you enjoy shopping and driving? Are you looking for a way to make a big impact with limited time? Shopping assistance volunteers transport donated supplies from local businesses to the WildCare Inc. center, along with assisting in shopping for items needed for animal care. After driving the items to the facility, volunteers would assist with unloading and placing the items where needed. Boys & Girls Clubs' Father Daughter Dance

Boys & Girls Clubs of Bloomington is looking for volunteers to help with the 14th Annual Father Daughter Dance on Saturday, April 1.  The event will be at the Lincoln Street Club from 5-7 p.m.  Volunteers are needed to assist with set up, general event help and post-event help. Set up opportunities include setting up the tables, chairs, decorations, etc. General event opportunities include assisting with activities (face painting, karaoke, etc.) during the dance. Amity Trio needs volunteers

Amity Trio has several volunteer opportunities that need your help including social media and grant writing volunteers. Amity Trio’s mission is to contribute to a more equitable distribution of artistic voices on a global scale by performing music by underrepresented composers, for a variety of audience interests, locations and socioeconomic strata. Community Wish List Spotlight

HHFB Wish List

Hoosier Hills Food Bank collects stores and distributes donated food to nearly 100 nonprofit organizations with feeding programs that directly serve needy and hungry people. They distribute over 3.5 million pounds of food to hungry people each year.

Donations: Monday-Friday 9 a.m.-5 p.m. at 2333 W. Industrial Park Drive. Monetary donations can be mailed to P.O. Box 697, Bloomington, IN 47402.
