Nonprofit’s gala will support mental health care for kids

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A limited number of tickets are still available for the 5th Annual Queen of Hearts Gala happening this Saturday, Feb. 10 at the Pinery North. The dinner, casino, and auction event benefits Bryson’s Chase Foundation, a nonprofit created in 2018 to help families who need financial support when seeking children’s mental health care.

Lindsey Kangas, President of Bryson’s Chase Foundation, started the organization after going through challenges to find help for her son, Bryson, when he was younger.

“It was a hard process, it was a lonely process, it was a financially trying process,” Kangas said. Bryson is now 19 and doing well and Kangas said they want to give back and make the process easier for other families who are dealing with mental health issues.

Proceeds from the tickets and fundraising events at the Queen of Hearts Gala will go to Bryson’s Chase and Kangas said the foundation is going to start funding therapists in the Pikes Peak Region. “We’re going to be able to provide free therapy for kiddos who still need it but can’t afford it,” Kangas said.

Kangas also discussed another project she has been working on that will be revealed at the gala. More can be learned by watching the video above.

Tickets to the gala can be purchased on the nonprofit’s website. Those who can’t attend but want to support Bryson’s Chase can find more information there as well.
