Nonprofits seeking donations in annual NEPA Gives fundraiser

Nonprofits in northeastern Pennsylvania will be raising money through the annual NEPA Gives event from 7 p.m. Thursday to 7 p.m. Friday.

All sorts of causes in the Poconos and beyond — arts and music, conservation and the environment, fire departments and emergency services, historical societies, libraries, scholarship funds and more — are seeking donations.

NEPA Gives is hosted by Scranton Area Community Foundation, Carbon County Community Foundation, The Luzerne Foundation, Greater Pike Community Foundation, Wayne County Community Foundation and Community Foundation of Endless Mountains.

Prizes from event sponsors will be awarded to nonprofits when they hit certain milestones or receive donations at particular times.

This is the fourth year of NEPA Gives, and the effort has a $1.5 million goal.

The minimum donation is $10.
