Wilmington is lauded as the Delaware Valley’s most convenient airport, according to an Avelo news release. It’s near parts of Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and it offers an accessible alternative to busier stops like the Philadelphia International Airport.

SRQ President and CEO Rick Piccolo said the airport looks forward to offering easier travel, per the release.

“This new nonstop route will provide customers a way to avoid big city congestion and fly from one convenient airport to another,” Piccolo said.

The new flight adds to Avelo’s routes to the Tweed New Haven Airport and the Raleigh-Durahm International Airport from SRQ. Avelo’s flights — which are all nonstop — span 44 destinations across 23 states and Puerto Rico.

Flights from Dec. 1-17 start at $59 if booked before Nov. 9. Trips can be booked at AveloAir.com.
