Nonstop flights from Sacramento to this major international city begin in June 2023

Sacramento is adding another international flight option.

Air Canada will launch nonstop service between Sacramento International Airport and Toronto’s Pearson Airport on June 2, 2023, airport officials announced Thursday. Flights will be available four days a week between Sacramento and Canada’s largest city, which serves as a major connection point to Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Flights will be scheduled to depart Sacramento for Toronto at 9:25 a.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, according to an Air Canada news release.

Flights returning from Toronto leave at 6:30 p.m. and arrive in Sacramento at 8:55 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Passengers flying to Sacramento will pre-clear customs in Toronto.

The flights to Toronto follow the return of nonstop service on Air Canada between Sacramento and Vancouver, British Columbia. That popular route had been grounded for 26 months during the pandemic but returned in June.

After a slowdown in 2020, passenger traffic in and out of Sacramento International Airport has increased steadily this year. The number of passengers who have boarded a plane or landed at SMF is up nearly 32% over last year, according to airport data.
