North Canton Hoover football's Drew Logan to play in Blue-Grey All-American Bowl

NORTH CANTON — Hoover High School senior football standout Drew Logan is slated to play in Monday’s Blue-Grey All-American Bowl at the Dallas Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium.

The game begins at 2 p.m. EST and includes Class of 2022 players from around the country. Logan will play for the East squad coached by Ken Stills, a former NFL defensive back.

Logan, a 6-foot-5, 245-pound defensive end and running back, led Hoover to an outright Federal League championship and a 9-3 record this past fall.

He registered 63 tackles overall, 18 tackles for loss and 13 sacks in earning first-team All-Ohio and Northeast Inland District Co-Defensive Player of the Year. He also forced six fumbles, recovered three and picked off one pass. He joined Mike Shimek, Brady Sullivan and Christian Greco on a dominant Hoover defensive line.

Logan added seven rushing touchdowns and 5.0 yards a carry as a short-yardage running back in the Vikings’ run-heavy offense.

Logan has been offered by seven Mid-American Conference schools, including his father Andy’s alma mater of Kent State. He also is a high-level lacrosse recruit.

Logan is the nephew of four-time Olympic thrower Jud Logan, who died Monday of complications related to COVID-19. The 62-year-old Logan had battled a rare form of cancer called B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
