North Carolina high school football scores, live updates from Jacksonville area for Week 3
It’s the third week of the high school football season, but only one team is undefeated – Jacksonville.
The Cardinals have an open date Friday night before they play at West Carteret on Sept. 9, but the area’s other nine schools play this week. Lejeune got things started with a nonconference game against Lakewood on Thursday.

There are some interesting matchups on Friday. White Oak looks to rebound from a loss to Jacksonville when it visits Southwest, which is coming off a loss to Richlands.
The Wildcats are riding high after their win over the Stallions, but face a daunting task in East Duplin, which suffered a heartbreaking defeat at Princeton. Croatan battles county rival East Carteret, and Swansboro and Dixon both hit the road to North Brunswick and Topsail.
