North Carolina toddler, reported missing in June, reunited with father

A missing toddler has been returned to her father after last being seen by him in June.

According to Virginia Beach police, Samalea Daniels, 3, was taken from her father’s house in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, by her mother, who also lives in Virginia Beach. Her father, Jalen Davis, reported Samalea missing on June 20.

On July 14, VBPD’s major crimes unit received the report on Daniels, and on the same day, a Virginia Beach judge issued an “Ex Parte Order” to take physical custody of Samalea and return her into her father’s custody. At the time, police said she had been last seen at her grandmother’s house with her mother, Tianna Mila Daniels, in Virginia Beach.

Last Wednesday, Tianna Daniels was taken into custody in North Carolina on an outstanding warrant, and the child was returned to her father.
