This North Carolina town is one of the most romantic getaways in the U.S., ranking says
With the holidays fast approaching, many couples may be looking for their next romantic getaway. For those couples looking for options in North Carolina, one small town recently made a list of the most romantic towns in the country.
Blowing Rock, located along the Blue Ridge Parkway, ranked No. 48 on New York Travel Guides' list of the 140 Most Romantic Small Towns in America. The ranking used analysis of 600 small towns in America, focusing on the following categories: romantic places to stay, romantic activities, historic architecture and scenery and "cozy coffee shops" and restaurants.
Previously listed in Southern Living's Best Places to Retire in the South, Blowing Rock has beautiful views and romantic activities. New York Travel Guides specifically highlights the option for a visit to the The Spa at Chetola Resort.
Blowing Rock is known for its outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking and exploring parks like Memorial Park, Moses H. Cone Memorial Park and Grandfather Mountain State Park. For travelers with an interest in science and history, the town has the Blowing Rock Art & History Museum and the Appalachian Fossil Museum.
