North Fayetteville fire at trailer park displaces one family early Saturday morning

Firefighters were called to the Breezy Hill Mobile Home Park early Saturday after a structure fire damaged multiple mobile homes, a news release from the Fayetteville Fire Department said.

The fire took place in the 300 block of Mammoth Drive in a mobile home park across from Honeycutt Road, the release said. A neighbor said she saw the flames and called 911 at 4:02 a.m.

The first Fire Department units arrived on the scene at 4:09 a.m. and the Red Cross was called to the fire at 7:24 a.m., according to the Fire Department.

The building that initially caught fire was being remodeled by the renter of the property, according to the property owner.

The family occupying the mobile home on 310 Mammoth Drive was abruptly woken by neighbors who alerted them of the fire, the property owner said. The family of six was displaced due to the damages and received assistance from the Red Cross.

The estimated damage to the properties totals $55,000, according to the Fire Department.

"Cumberland County Sheriff's Office Arson Task Force has been requested for investigation into cause and origin," the release said.
