North Hagerstown's Annie Smith headlines All-County Girls Soccer
Player of the Year
Annie Smith, North Hagerstown
The senior forward/midfielder tallied 22 goals and seven assists to lead the Hubs. She scored both goals in a 2-1 win over WCPS champion Boonsboro, and she had a goal and an assist in a 2-0 3A West playoff win over Frederick. Smith earned all-state first-team honors by the Maryland Association of Coaches of Soccer, and she was an All-CMC Spires first-team selection.
All-Washington County First Team
Jana Borchart, St. Maria Goretti
The sophomore midfielder/forward had 17 goals and 13 assists for the 13-4 Gaels.
Nicole Calp, Smithsburg
The junior midfielder had seven goals and two assists for the 10-6-1 Leopards, earning All-CMC Gambrill first-team honors.
Annabel Fletcher, Boonsboro
The sophomore forward scored a team-high 16 goals, added two assists and was an All-CMC Gambrill first-team selection. The Warriors won their third straight Tesla Cup as Fletcher scored in overtime for a 1-0 win over Smithsburg in the regular-season finale.
Ellen Hake, Williamsport
The senior stood out defensively while also adding some offense with three goals and five assists.
Amanda Hawbecker, Smithsburg
The senior midfielder had nine goals and six assists for the Leopards. She was an All-CMC Gambrill first-team selection and earned an all-state honorable mention.
Maddie Kesselring, Smithsburg
The senior forward scored a team-high 11 goals and added four assists for the 1A West Region II finalists.
Erin King, Boonsboro
The senior led the way on defense for the 8-6-1 Warriors, who posted six shutouts.
Lexi Linetty, Smithsburg
The senior midfielder scored six goals and tallied a team-high nine assists. She had a goal and an assist in a 3-1 win over Boonsboro in the 1A West Region II semifinals.
Peyton Miller, St. Maria Goretti
The junior midfielder had 12 goals and 13 assists, helping the Gaels win 13 of their 17 games.
Samantha O’Connor, North Hagerstown
The sophomore forward/midfielder had nine goals and an assist for the Hubs, who had an .800 winning percentage against county competition.
Mollie Rebuck, St. Maria Goretti
The junior forward/midfielder had 28 goals and 15 assists and was in consideration for Player of the Year honors.
Lauren Toms, Williamsport
The junior midfielder had 13 goals and five assists to lead the Wildcats. Her overtime goal lifted Williamsport to a 2-1 win over Clear Spring in the 1A West Region II quarterfinals.
Kayla Ward, Smithsburg
The senior goalkeeper posted six shutouts and had a 0.93 goals-against average, earning All-CMC Gambrill first-team honors.
Braelynn Whetsell, North Hagerstown
The senior was the defensive leader for the Hubs, who allowed fewer goals than they scored.
