North Jersey schools set for early dismissal Wednesday, Sept. 6 due to heat

Back to school has gotten off to a hot start and it is causing some school districts to alter their plans for the first week of school.

The National Weather Service announced that North Jersey will be under a heat advisory through Thursday evening at 8 p.m. The NWS warns that "the combination of heat and humidity is expected to make it feel like it is 95 to 99 degrees for two or more consecutive days, or 100 to 104 degrees for any length of time."

At least two school districts, Wayne and Clifton, had early dismissals on Tuesday, while many districts announced early dismissals for the coming days.
