North Jersey traffic hotspots - HBCUNY Classic at MetLife; Eagles at Prudential

The Toyota HBCUNY Classic comes to MetLife Stadium this week, with an after party at American Dream. Also at the Meadowlands - the circus, the franchise expo and horse racing. In Newark, the Eagles and Fuerza Regida will perform at the Prudential Center. And, in Harrison, New York takes on Austin at Red Bull Arena. Elsewhere in in North Jersey, be on the lookout for roadwork that will cause lane closures. Bergen County traffic

  • The Great American Franchise Expo will be at American Dream in East Rutherford on Sept. 16, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and on Sept. 17, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • The Toyota HBCUNY Classic football game - Morehouse vs. Albany State - will be at MetLife Stadium on Sept. 16 at 3 p.m., and an after party will take place at American Dream, from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.

  • The All-New Royal Canadian International Family Circus 2023 will be at American Dream in East Rutherford through Sept. 23, with up to three performances per day.

  • Horse racing at Meadowlands Racetrack in East Rutherford on Fridays and Saturdays through Nov. 18 may cause some extra congestion in the area.

  • Up to three toll lanes will be closed on the Garden State Parkway northbound at the Bergen Toll Plaza in Saddle Brook, from 8 p.m. on Sept. 15 to 6 a.m. on Sept. 16.

  • One lane will be closed on the Garden State Parkway northbound between the Bergen Toll Plaza in Saddle Brook and Exit 163 in Paramus, from 8 p.m. on Sept. 15 to 3 a.m. on Sept. 16.

  • At least one lane will be closed for roadwork on I-80 eastbound near Exit 67 in Hackensack, from 8 p.m. on Sept. 15 to 6 a.m. on Sept. 16.

  • One lane will be closed for construction on Route 17 northbound from East Saddle River Road in Ridgewood to Lake Street in Ramsey, from 9 p.m. on Sept. 15 to 6 a.m. on Sept. 16.

  • Two lanes will be closed for barrier repairs on Route 4 westbound, between Belle Avenue and River Road in Teaneck, from 11 p.m. on Sept. 16 to 8 a.m. on Sept. 17.

  • One lane will be closed for construction on Route 17 northbound near Ridgewood Avenue in Paramus, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sept. 17 through Oct. 22.

  • The Fair Lawn Avenue bridge will remain closed between Second Street in Fair Lawn and Route 20 in Paterson for bridge replacement through Nov. 30.

Essex County traffic

  • The Eagles will bring their "Long Goodbye" concert, with guest Steely Dan, to the Prudential Center on Sept. 16 and Sept. 17.

  • Fuerza Regida will perform at the Prudential Center on Sept. 22 at 8 p.m., as part of its "Otra Peda" tour.

  • One lane will be closed for VMS repairs on Route 10 both directions between Manor Lane in Parsippany and Harvest Lane in Livingston, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Sept. 15.

  • The left lane will be closed for roadwork on I-280 in both directions, between Exit 10 in Orange and Exit 9 in West Orange, from 8 p.m. on Sept. 15 to 6 a.m. on Sept. 16.

  • The right land will be closed for roadwork on I-280 eastbound near Exit 13 in Newark, from 10 p.m. on Sept. 15 to 6 a.m. on Sept. 16.

  • The right lane will be closed for roadwork on I-280 westbound between Exit 15 and Exit 13 in Newark, from 11 p.m. on Sept. 15 to 7 a.m. on Sept. 16.

  • The right lane will be closed for roadwork on I-280 eastbound near Exit 7, from 9 p.m. on Sept. 16 to 11 a.m. on Sept. 17.

  • At least one lane will be closed for construction and drainage improvements on Route 21 in both directions, between Exit 7 in Belleville and Exit 12 in Passaic, from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m., Sept. 18 through Sept. 23.

Hudson County traffic

  • At Red Bull Arena in Harrison, the New York vs. Austin soccer game will be on Sept. 20 at 7:30 p.m.

  • The right lane will be closed for utility work on Truck Route 1&9 northbound near Hackensack Avenue in Kearny, from 8 p.m. on Sept. 15 to 5 a.m. on Sept. 15.

Morris County traffic

  • The left lane will be closed for construction on Route 124 in both directions between I-287 in Morristown and Waverly Place in Madison, from 8 p.m. on Sept. 15 to 6 a.m. on Sept. 16.

  • The right lane will be closed for barrier repairs on Route 46 eastbound near I-80 in Denville, from 9 p.m. on Sept. 15 to 5 a.m. on Sept. 16.

  • At least one lane will be closed for roadwork on I-80 westbound between Exit 57 in Paterson and Exit 47A in Parsippany, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., on Sept. 15, Sept. 18 and Sept. 19.

  • One lane will be closed for construction on Route 124 in both directions betwen I-287 in Morristown and Waverly Place in Madison, from 8 p.m. on Sept. 15 to 6 a.m. on Sept. 16.

  • All lanes will be closed intermittently for construction on Route 46 eastbound, between I-80 in Parsippany and Route 23 in Wayne, from 8 p.m. on Sept. 15 to 6 a.m. on Sept. 16.

  • The left lane will be closed for roadwork on I-80 westbound near Exit 47A in Parsippany on Sept. 20, from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. on Sept. 21.

  • At least one lane will be closed for roadwork on I-80 westbound, between exit 57 in Paterson and Exit 53 in Wayne, from 8 p.m. on Sept. 20 to 6 a.m. on Sept. 21.

Passaic County traffic

  • Two lanes will be closed for roadwork on Route 23 southbound Canistear Road to Reservoir Road in West Milford, from 8 p.m. on Sept. 15 to 5 a.m on Sept. 16.

  • At least one lane will be closed for roadwork on I-80 westbound between Exit 57 in Paterson and Exit 47A in Parsippany, from 8 p.m. on Sept. 15 to 8 a.m. on Sept. 16.

  • All lanes will be closed intermittently for construction on Route 46 eastbound from I-80 in Parsippany to Route 23 in Wayne, from 8 p.m. on Sept. 15 to 6 a.m. on Sept. 16.

  • Two lanes will be closed for construction on Route 3 westbound, from the Garden State Parkway to Route 46 in Clifton, from 9 p.m. on Sept. 15 to 5 a.m. on Sept. 16.

  • Two lanes will be closed for construction on Route 46 westbound from Van Houten Avenue in Clifton to Browertown Road in Little Falls, from 9 p.m. on Sept. 15 to 5 a.m. on Sept. 16.

  • All lanes will be closed intermittently for construction on Route 46 eastbound near Van Houten Avenue in Clifton, from 9 p.m. on Sept. 16 to 5 a.m. on Sept. 17.

  • At least one lane will be closed for construction and drainage improvements on Route 21 in both directions, between Exit 7 in Belleville and Exit 12 in Passaic, from 8 p.m. to 9 a.m., Sept. 18 through Sept. 23.

  • At least one lane will be closed for roadwork on I-80 westbound, between Exit 57 in Paterson and Exit 53 in Wayne, from 8 p.m. on Sept. 20 to 6 a.m. on Sept. 21.

  • The right lane will be closed on Route 20 northbound, between Route 46 in Clifton and 20th Avenue in Paterson, for drainage improvements and longterm construction until Sept. 29.

  • The Fair Lawn Avenue bridge will remain closed between Second Street in Fair Lawn and Route 20 in Paterson for bridge replacement through Nov. 30.

  • Construction will continue to keep the Route 46 westbound ramp to Valley Road in Clifton closed until Feb. 4.

Sussex County traffic

  • All lanes will be closed intermittently for construction on Route 23 northbound, near Limekiln Road in Franklin and Hamburg, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., on Sept. 15.

  • All lanes will be closed intermittently for construction on Route 94 northbound near Ramsey Road in Fredon, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., through Sept. 18.
