North Jersey traffic hotspots - NJ Devils at Prudential Center, closures on 80 & 46

Roadwork will cause daytime and overnight lane closures on major roadways including I-80 and Route 46.

The New Jersey Devils are at the Prudential Center on Friday and Sunday. The Rock will also host the Powerhouse concert featuring Lil Uzi Vert, A Boogie Wit da Hoodie, Lil Durk, Ice Spice, SpinKing & Friends and Lola Brooke on Saturday. Then, Disney on Ice begins a five-day residence at the arena beginning Wednesday.

As pumpkin-picking season concludes, the West Milford Police Department will take measures to alleviate traffic this weekend, specifically on Greenwood Lake and Warwick turnpikes. There may be heavy traffic in the area, so plan extra time or alternate routes for travel.

In Hudson County, Exchange Place in Jersey City will host the Diwali Festival of Lights on Saturday afternoon and the Ragamuffin Parade will close some roads in Hoboken on Tuesday afternoon.

It's the battle of the home teams when the Jets and Giants square off at MetLife Stadium on Sunday at 1 p.m. The parking lots open at 8 a.m., so expect traffic to start building early as fans of both teams make their way to the Meadowlands.

Bergen County traffic

  • The Giants and Jets battle each other on their mutual home turf of MetLife Stadium on Oct. 29 at 1 p.m., with parking lots opening at 8 a.m.

  • Horse racing at Meadowlands Racetrack in East Rutherford on Fridays and Saturdays may cause some extra congestion in the area.

  • The ramp to Berdan Avenue from Route 208 northbound will be closed for milling and paving operations on Oct. 27, from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  • One lane will be closed for construction on Route 46 in both directions near Central Avenue in Teterboro, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Oct. 27.

  • The right lane will be closed for construction on Route 4 in both directions near Midland Avenue in Fair Lawn, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Oct. 27 and Oct. 28.

  • All lanes will be closed intermittently for construction and line striping on the New Jersey Turnpike/I-80 northbound between Ridgefield and Ridgefield Park, through 5 p.m. on Oct. 27.

  • The express lanes will be closed for guard rail repairs on I-95 northbound between exit 70 in Ridgefield Park and exit 72A in Fort Lee, from 8 p.m. on Oct. 27 and 5 a.m. on Oct. 28.

  • The left lane will be closed for milling and paving operations on Route 4 in both directions near Iozia Terrace and Florence Place in Fair Lawn, from 9 p.m. on Oct. 27 to 7 a.m. on Oct. 28.

  • At least one lane will be closed for roadwork on I-80 westbound near exit 67 in Hackensack, from 9 p.m. on Oct. 27 to 8 a.m. on Oct. 28.

  • The George Washington Bridge Lower Level eastbound will be closed from 11 p.m. on Oct. 28 to 8 a.m. on Oct. 29.

  • The Fair Lawn Avenue bridge will remain closed between Second Street in Fair Lawn and Route 20 in Paterson for bridge replacement through Nov. 30.

Essex County traffic

  • The right lane will be closed for construction on Route 10 westbound between Harvest Lane in Livingston and Manor Lane in Parsippany, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 27.

  • One lane will be closed for road maintenance operations on Route 23 in both directions, between Alexander Avenue in Pequannock and Fairview Avenue in Cedar Grove, from 8 p.m. on Oct. 27 to 5 a.m. on Oct. 28.

  • At least one lane will be closed for construction on Route 21 in both directions between exit 7 in Belleville and exit 12 in Passaic, from 9 p.m. on Oct. 27 to 5 a.m. on Oct. 28.

  • The southbound New Jersey Turnpike Inner Roadway will be closed for expansion joint repairs, line striping and street sweeping, between exit 14 in Newark and exit 6 in Mansfield, from 9 p.m. on Oct. 27 to 6 a.m. on Oct. 28.

  • The right lane will be closed for roadwork on I-280 eastbound near exit 13 in Newark, from 10 p.m. on Oct. 27 to 6 a.m. on Oct. 28.

  • At least one lane will be closed for roadwork on I-280 eastbound near exit 7 in West Orange, from 9 p.m. on Oct. 28 to 11 a.m. on Oct. 29.

  • Bridge work will keep the ramp from Clifton Avenue to I-280 in Newark closed until Jan. 31.

Hudson County traffic

  • The Diwali Festival of Lights will be at Exchange Place in Jersey City, from noon to 6 p.m. on Oct. 28.

  • The Ragamuffin Parade in Hoboken will close Fifth Street, between Washington Avenue and River Street, and Washington Street, between 13th and Fifth streets, on Oct. 31, from 3:15 to 5 p.m.

  • The right lane will be closed for road maintenance operations on Route 139 Upper westbound near Central Avenue in Jersey City, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., on Oct. 27.

  • One lane will be closed for utility work on Route 46 in both directions, between I-287 in Parsippany and Fairfield Avenue in Fairfield, from 8 p.m. on Oct. 27 to 6 a.m. on Oct. 28.

  • One lane will be closed for construction on the New Jersey Turnpike Hudson County Extension westbound, between exit 14C in Jersey City and exit 14A in Bayonne, from 9 p.m. on Oct. 27 to 5 a.m. on Oct. 30.

  • The left lane will be closed for construction on Route 46 westbound near I-80 in Parsippany, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 27.

  • The right lane will be closed for utility work on Route 15 southbound near Berkshire Valley Road in Jefferson, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 27.

  • One lane will be closed for utility work on Route 46 in both directions, between I-287 in Parsippany and Fairfield Avenue in Fairfield, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m., through Oct. 28.

Passaic County traffic

  • On Oct. 28 and Oct. 29, the traffic light at the intersection of Warwick Turnpike and Lakeshore Drive South will be steady green and steady red for traffic on Lakeshore Drive South and Utopia Deli parking lot; and an officer will be assigned to the intersection, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., to assist with the flow of traffic to and from apple- and pumpkin picking locations and events. Residents are reminded that even with these measures there may still be heavy traffic in the area and to plan extra time or alternate routes for travel.

  • The right lane will be closed on Route 20 in both directions between E. 38th Street and 21st Avenue in Paterson, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 27. The right lane will be closed for construction in both directions between Route 46 in Clifton and E. 24th Street in Paterson, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 27.

  • At least one lane will be closed for roadwork on I-80 westbound between exit 57 in Paterson and exit 47A in Parsippany, from 8 p.m. on Oct. 27 to 8 a.m. on Oct. 28.

  • Two lanes will be closed for construction on Route 3 eastbound between Route 46 and Grove Street in Clifton, from 9 p.m. on Oct. 27 to 5 a.m. on Oct. 28.

  • Two lanes will be closed for construction on Route 46 eastbound between Browertown Road in Little Falls and Valley Road in Clifton, from 9 p.m. on Oct. 27 to 5 a.m. on Oct. 28.

  • The right lane will be closed for utility work on Route 23 in both directions from I-80 in Wayne to Hamburg Turnpike in West Milford, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Oct. 30 through Nov. 10.

  • The Fair Lawn Avenue bridge will remain closed between Second Street in Fair Lawn and Route 20 in Paterson for bridge replacement through Nov. 30.

  • Construction will continue to keep the Route 46 westbound ramp to Valley Road in Clifton closed until Feb. 4.
