North Kingstown man charged with DUI in crash that critically injured youth

EXETER — A North Kingstown man is charged with DUI in a crash that left a juvenile in critical condition.

The head-on crash occurred at 9:30 p.m. Saturday on Ten Rod Road at Arcadia Road in Exeter.

The teenage driver of one vehicle was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, while a juvenile passenger was taken to the hospital with critical injuries, the state police said.

The driver of the second vehicle, Alexander Krajewski, 30, of North Kingstown, was not injured. He was arrested and charged with two counts each of driving to endanger, resulting in personal injury; and driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs, resulting in serious bodily injury.

Both vehicles sustained significant damage, the state police said. The crash remains under investigation.
