North Kingstown, Moses Brown baseball, Pilgrim lacrosse all winners on Monday

BASEBALL

Division I

North Kingstown 10, Pilgrim 0

Will Creed and Will Draper combined to allow only 1 hit over 6 innings as North Kingstown blanked Pilgrim in a game shortened because of the 10-run rule. The Skippers offense lit up the Patriots pitching with 3 hits each for Will Brew, Robinson Lamond, and Evan Beattie and two hits apiece by Andrew Ciarnello and Blake Beattie.

Moses Brown 2, Coventry 0

Tucker DeWolf threw a complete game shutout, allowing only two hits along the way while striking a dozen as the Quakers knocked off Coventry.

Portsmouth 10, Cumberland 2

A six-run fourth inning and the pitching of starter John Mass helped lift Portsmouth to victory over Cumberland. Mass pitched four innings allowing no runs on 1 hit while striking out 9. The Patriots had 12 hits in the game, including 2 each by Caleb Banks, Emmett Greenwood, Charlie Cord and Mass.

BOYS LACROSSE

Division II

Pilgrim 14, Coventry 2

Ethan Pezzullo fired in five goals, Braxton Bragg netted three, Rich Cabral had a pair and Ryan Barlow added a goal and an assist as the Patriots ran over the Knotty Oakers. Charlie Read had both goals for Coventry, now 0-3. Pilgrim improves to 2-1.

BOYS VOLLEYBALL

Division II

Westerly 3, West Warwick 0 (25-14, 25-16, 25 23)

The play of Jack Kenyon (14 kills, and 4 blocks) and Brian Allen (15 digs) helped the Bulldogs sweep the Wizards and improve to 2-1 on the season. West Warwick falls to 1-2.

Barrington 3, Lincoln 0 (25-21, 25-14, 25-14)

Cam Kelley totaled 12 kills, 2 aces and 8 digs and SangMin Park had 27 assists, 3 aces and 6 kills and they led the Eagles, now 3-0, to victory over the Lions.  Lincoln drops to 1-2 this season.

Cranston West 3, Central 0 (25-18, 25-13, 25-15), JV - Central, 2-1.

Christian Mak recorded 7 kills and 2 blocks and teammate Collin Khanjari had 2 kills, a block and an ace in Cranston West's victory over Central. Jet Nascimento had 8 kills and 2 aces for the Knights in the loss.

East Providence 3, Pilgrim 0 (25-17, 27-25, 25-21)

DJ Lepine (12 kills, 3 aces) and Loden Broe (18 assists, 1 ace) paved the way for East Providence to celebrate its victory over the Patriots.

BOYS TENNIS

Division I

Mount St. Charles 6, Cumberland 1

Spurred on by Ted Bielecki's victory at No. 1 singles (6-0, 6-0), Mount St. Charles went on to capture the the next six matches and sweep Cumberland.
