North Little Rock Police, U.S. Marshals arrest suspect in Waffle House robbery, shooting

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Detectives with the North Little Rock Police and U.S. Marshals announced the arrest of a man wanted in connection with the shooting of a Waffle House employee on Dec. 15.

Police said the arrest was made after Marshals learned that 24-year-old Devontea Clay was hiding at a relative’s house in North Little Rock. Once Marshals with the Fugitive Recovery Task Force responded to the residence on Rolling Hills Road, they found Clay hiding in the attic.

Clay is facing charges of aggravated robbery and first-degree battery for his involvement in the incident, which happened at the Waffle House on Camp Robinson Road.

Police said that Clay also had warrants for his arrest out of Fort Smith for the robbery of a Dollar General earlier on Dec. 15.

Clay is being held at the Pulaski County Detention Center without bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday morning.
