North Mecklenburg license plate office to provide services for auto dealer personnel

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – The North Carolina license plate agency office in Huntersville will begin providing limited services to auto dealers and salespersons beginning Feb. 19, the N.C. Department of Motor Vehicles announced Thursday.

Road work starting next month in Charlotte: NCDOT

Beginning Feb. 19, the express office at 12101 Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road will be able to issue 30-day markers to dealers — upon proper application and fees — and will assist with processing applications for salespersons.

“We are customer focused at NCDMV, and North Carolina’s auto dealers are some of our biggest customers,” said DMV Commissioner Wayne Goodwin in a statement. “We are happy to provide this new service to our auto dealers in the Charlotte area and look forward to working with them to make other improvements where possible.”

The agency is operated by NCDMV staff and also offers express services to customers, including vehicle registrations and renewals, disability placards, 10-day temporary tags, driving records, title histories, and crash reports.

This express office does not offer title applications or title transactions. Currently, 116 full-service license plate agencies operate in North Carolina.  The Huntersville agency is the first LPA express office in the state.

In addition, services such as registration renewals, duplicate registration, driving records and personalized or specialty plates can be completed online at MyNCDMV.gov.
