North Myrtle Beach, Surfside Beach to resume seasonal paid parking on Friday

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) — As the Grand Strand looks ahead to the arrival of spring and the start of the 2024 tourist season in March, seasonal paid parking is also about to return in some municipalities.

Paid public parking in North Myrtle Beach and Surfside Beach will resume on Friday and continue through Oct. 31.

In North Myrtle Beach, the fee to park at all lots operated by Park North Myrtle Beach is $3 per hour. However, parking is free from 5 a.m. until 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to midnight every day. City-owned parking lots are closed between midnight and 5 a.m.

In Surfside Beach, paid parking on the following lots will cost $3 an hour or $15 per day:

  • Seaside Drive

  • Yaupon Lot

  • 3rd Avenue North

  • 6th Avenue North

  • 3rd Avenue South

  • 4th Avenue South

  • 5th Avenue South

  • 6th Avenue South

  • 13th South Beach Side

  • Melody Lane

All other lots in Surfside Beach, excluding the new pier, will remain $2 an hour or $10 per day. The Pier Lot will be $4 an hour with no daily maximum fee.

Elsewhere, Myrtle Beach now operates with year-round parking enforcement. Horry County offers free year-round parking at beach access points in the Garden City and Nash Street areas.
