This North Texas city is ranked in top 20 U.S. barbecue spots by elite Yelp reviewers

Three Texas cities were in the top 20 U.S. barbecue restaurants this year, ranked by the Yelp Elite Squad.

The Yelp Elite Squad is an exclusive designation given to local reviewers who write and photograph food.

In this year’s rankings, Franklin BBQ in Austin was first with the other two Texas cities ranking high on the list.

Fort Worth did not make the list, but there are still plenty of good spots in and around the area worth checking out.

Last month, over 39,166 Star-Telegram readers voted Hickory Stick BBQ, 900 E. Enon, Everman, as the best barbecue spot in the Fort Worth area.

Hard Eight BBQ in Coppell was the North Texas city that did make the Yelp Elite Squad list. There are Hard Eight BBQ locations in both Dallas and Tarrant County.
