North Texas weather forecast includes rainy weekend, chance of severe storms next week

Isolated thunderstorms are predicted to begin Friday night across Central and North Texas, according to the National Weather Service in Fort Worth.

Starting Friday afternoon, dense fog was expected to form around I-20 and I-30. Isolated thunderstorms will join rain in the forecast. Lightning is expected to be the main hazard, the NWS report said.

Saturday and Saturday night may also bring thunderstorms as a cold front covers all of North and Central Texas.

Severe weather is not expected this weekend.

The initial round of storms is expected to end Sunday, but strong or severe thunderstorms could come together Monday night into Tuesday.
