Carl Hawkins, 34, was arrested for aggravated assault on a family or household member, human trafficking for commercial sex acts, terroristic threatening, second-degree assault on a family member and second-degree false imprisonment charges.

Springdale police were dispatched to the Extended Stay hotel just after 4 a.m. on Tuesday for a domestic disturbance call, according to the police report.

The caller said she was trying to get away from her boyfriend who tried to hit her.

She told police Hawkins choked her and told her he was going to kill her. She also told officers that she could not breathe and thought she was going to die, according to the report.

According to the police report, the woman told officers Hawkins said he had set up meetings for her to have sex with other men for money. She said when she refused, Hawkins became angry, and said he would “tie her up with a charging cable and beat her until he could not beat her anymore.”

The woman claimed that Hawkins had invited a man to their hotel room on Jan. 20 and told her she was going to have sex with him for money, the document said. She hid in the bathroom until the man left.

The report said during their time at the hotel, Hawkins made the woman remove all of her clothing so she could not leave the hotel room.

Hawkins is being held in the Washington County Jail on a $150,000 bond and has a court date set for Feb. 16.
