Summertime events like Country Fest and Alive Musical Festival are several months away, but lineups and artists have been announced.

Tickets also have gone on sale for Country Fest, set for June 14-17 at Clay's Resort Jellystone Park in Lawrence Township, and Alive Musical Festival, set July 13-15 at Atwood Lake State Park, located both in Tuscarawas and Carroll counties, as well as for Neon Nights, the sister event of Country Fest scheduled for Aug. 11-12.

Country Fest tickets, including four-day commuter passes for $189 and camping packages, can be purchased at https://www.thecountryfest.com/schedule.

Headliners for Country Fest are Riley Green, Kane Brown, Jon Pardi and Sam Hunt. Other performers include Ernest, Chase Rice, Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line, Lauren Alaina, Corey Kent and Randy Houser.

Alive Musical Festival still has more performers to announce. As of earlier this week, Lecrae, Zach Williams, Mac Powell, NEEDTOBREATHE and TAYA were announced, with other slots still to be filled.

'Holiday Hangout' with The Shootouts and Ohio Weather Band

North Canton's Ryan Humbert will be hosting "The Holiday Hangout" concert on Dec. 16 at Goodyear Theatre, featuring his own vintage country band The Shootouts and several other Northeast Ohio artists.

Also performing at the 7:30 p.m. show are Angie Haze, The Labra Brothers, Hey Monea, The Ohio Weather Band, Marc Lee Shannon and Shelby Olive.

Reserved tickets, $15, $20 and $25, can be purchased at https://www.goodyeartheater.com/. Goodyear Theatre is at 1201 E. Market St. in Akron. The venue can be reached at 330-253-2488.

Humbert's annual holiday concert started in 2009 at the Akron Civic Theatre. This month's show is presented by Akron-based independent radio station The Summit 91.3.

"I'm really excited to be bringing my holiday concert back to Akron for the 14th year in a row − and to be bringing a lot of talented friends with me," he said in a news release. "It's going to be a great night for music lovers to kick back, relax and enjoy a wide variety of exciting holiday music from some of our area's best bands."

Stark County native Joe Vitale Jr. and his alternative rock band Ravenwood will perform Jan. 7 at Canton Palace Theatre.

This marks Ravenwood's first Palace Theatre show. Vitale Jr. is the son of Canton native Joe Vitale, a former touring drummer for the Eagles and a percussionist who also has performed with Crosby, Stills & Nash and other legendary classic rock artists.

"I have sat in with Joe Walsh and some other bands," Vitale Jr. said. "But I have never gotten to bring my personal group there. So I am very excited about this."

"I am bringing out the LASERS that night as well," Vitale Jr. said. "Dad is going to sit in with us. We're going to play for about 100 (minutes) give or take."

Vitale and Vitale Jr. are also members of the new band The Vinyl Machine, comprised of members who have toured and recorded with famous rock bands and musicians.

Midwest rock band Red Wanting Blue will headline a New Year's Eve concert on Dec. 31 at Goodyear Theatre in Akron.

The show, presented by The Summit 91.3 FM, also features JD Eicher of the Youngstown area, who tours nationally, as well as fellow Ohio singer-songwriter Angela Perley. Formed at Ohio University in 1995, Red Wanting Blue, an Americana and roots rock band, has performed in Stark County in the past while also touring the country.

Career highlights include Billboard chart success and performing on "The Late Show with David Letterman" in 2012.

Originating around 12 years ago, The Scenic Route won The Repository's "Battle of the Bands" contest in 2015 at Canton Palace Theatre.

Band members have changed over the years, although the talented Crozier has continued to helm the group and release new music on major streaming platforms. Crozier was honored with En-rich-ment Art Academy's Macy Gray Rising Star Award.

The Vindys recently released their sophomore album, "Bugs" on vinyl as part of Record Store Day Black Friday.

The vinyl edition also coincides with the release of a video for the title track, which was filmed at a home in Canfield and inspired by vocalist Jackie Popovec's real-life experience of finding thousands of yellow jackets behind the walls of her bedroom.

The Youngstown area-based band, known for its unique fusion of indie rock with jazz and pop, also will be performing on Dec. 23 at Westside Bowl. Tickets cost $15 and can be purchased at https://www.westsidebowl.com/tickets.

The Buffalo Ryders will be in concert Saturday at Musica, 51 E. Market St. in downtown Akron.

The Akron area alternative rock band will be playing material from the forthcoming new album, "Going Nowhere," which is set for release on Friday. The band also recently released an action-packed, fun video for the fast-charging "Holy Ones" and a teen romance narrative-based video set at an amusement park for the melodic, mid-tempo song, 'For a Moment."

Both videos were created by PFL Productions and are impressively and elaborately filmed with colorful and high-energy visuals. The videos were filmed and edited by Isaac Bixel.

Veteran Northeast Ohio musician Marc Lee Shannon recently released a book, "Sober Chronicles: My Journey of Discovery Along the Path to Recovery."

Shannon was a longtime member of Michael Stanley's backing band The Resonators. He also performs as a solo artist, releasing the album, "Lucky 7" in 2021. Shannon performs in the Canton area, including at The Still House at Gervasi's Vineyard.

Akron musician Shelby Olive releases new single

Akron-based indie singer songwriter Shelby Olive has released a new single.

Winner of the 2017 Akron High Arts Festival, Olive was among the featured artists last year in the Canton Symphony Orchestra's "Divergent Sounds" series.

Olive's new song, "The Sky & the Moon" is a "dreamy, peaceful song about the stability of love," she said in a news release. The song is available on major streaming platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music.

“There’s nothing fluffy about this song,” Olive added. “It feels like just a genuine display of how I feel about true love. It’s rooted in honesty that can’t be faked."

Anya Van Rose, a Stark County-based alternative rock singer songwriter, will be performing at The Auricle on Saturday night. The Handsome Devils are headlining the 9 p.m. show. Also playing is Anna's Anchor. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 day of the show.

Live music is back in full and frequent swing at The Auricle in downtown Canton.

Weekend shows include the Saturday night trio of The Handsome Devils, Anya Van Rose and Anna's Anchor. Anya Van Rose is an emerging Stark County-based singer songwriter in the alternative music genre, evoking a '90s-era sound with contemporary polish and production.

The Handsome Devils are making a return appearance to The Auricle, 201 Cleveland Ave. NW.

Doors open at 8 and music starts at 9 p.m. Tickets, $10 in advance and $15 at the door, can be purchased online at https://www.ticketweb.com/ by searching under the venue.

Friday night at The Auricle features Maedrix, Cassius Cobain and Timmy the Boy. Timmy the Boy is an Alliance area-based alternative rock artist who performed at the former Buzzbin in downtown Canton. Cassius Cobain is a California-based hip-hop and pop music artist.

Also part of Friday's lineup are Nova Flu and rapper Cashè Love.
