Northeast Florida high school boys soccer 2022-2023: State semifinal preview
All games 7 p.m. Saturday unless noted
CLASS 4A
Yulee (18-2-1) at Gulliver Prep (14-4-2)
At Belen Jesuit
For the first time in more than a decade, Yulee is a state semifinalist in a team ball sport following a stunning regional run from the No. 4 seed. Sebastian Joinville and Chad Jaynes, scorer of Wednesday's winner at Bishop Kenny, lead a Hornet attack that's strong on the break. Gulliver Prep is at the polar opposite of the experience scale, with seven Florida High School Athletic Association championships (the most recent in 2020) and a pair of double-digit scorers in Cosme Salas and Tomas Sciarra. The winner next travels to Spec Martin Stadium in DeLand for the Class 4A state championship against Bishop Moore or Lakeland McKeel at 7:05 p.m. Feb. 23.

CLASS 3A
Bolles (11-8-2) at NSU University (18-1-1)
It's the fourth consecutive state semifinal for Bolles, but they've lost the last three, two to Tampa Catholic and last year to Ransom Everglades. The task doesn't get easier this year with the long road trip to the top-ranked Sharks, who have outscored their foes 86-9 through the attack tandem of Rafael Guerra (32 goals, 20 assists) and freshman sensation Raul Leyva (20 goals, 15 assists). Watch for Bolles to use its physical strength on set plays, orchestrated by the attacking midfield pair of Will Morales and Sanders Dunn. The winner plays in the 3A final in DeLand against Tampa Prep or Winter Park Trinity Prep at 4:05 p.m. Feb. 23.
