Northeast Ohio, Akron high school football playoff scoreboard: Buchtel, Hoban, Hudson win

Welcome to the second season.

It seems like football season just kicked off but here we are in Week 11 and it's win or go home time.

Most of the usual suspects are back in the postseason. Unbeaten Highland and Hudson began their postseasons with convincing wins. The Explorers rolled to a 31-0 win over Solon and the Hornets stung Oregon Clay 49-14. Top-ranked and once-beaten Archbishop Hoban took it to Willoughby South 57-14

Some of the top matchups this week, however, will involve teams a level below the area's elite, teams that are trying to make a Cinderella run through the playoffs like Green did last season.

The Beacon Journal was at Norton, where the Metro Athletic Conference co-champion Panthers rolled to a 35-2 win over Bay Village Bay, and at Tallmadge, where the Blue Devils defeated Cleveland Villa Angela St. Joseph 21-7.
