Northeast Oregon Home Builders Association offering two construction education scholarships

Jan. 18—LA GRANDE — The Northeast Oregon Home Builders Association is offering two $1,500 scholarships for students interested in pursuing a career in the construction profession.

The scholarship is designed to help educate and train individuals interested in a profession related to building — including welding, heating and ventilation, heavy equipment operation, carpentry, electrical, plumping, concrete, construction management, architecture or engineering.

Applicants must either be a senior enrolled in high school, a student enrolled in college or an individual in a qualified apprenticeship program. Students must be a resident of Umatilla, Morrow, Union, Baker or Wallowa counties.

Application forms are available through local high school counseling officers or online at either the Northeast Oregon Home Builders Association or Columbia Basin Student Homes websites. Applications also are available by writing to NEOHBA, PO Box 436, Hermiston, OR 97838.

The application deadline is Friday, April 7.
