WARSAW — Bringing a sense of western style with custom-made clothes not found elsewhere is the goal of the new Northern Belle Shop at 104 Main St. in Warsaw.

Owners Alicia Wilson and Samantha Dickerson are already looking at expanding into a bigger space that would allow them to have more clothes and items like boots. It's also not their only venture as Dickerson does photography under the Northern Belle name and Wilson makes custom T-shirts.

Dickerson was doing some selling of items online out of her home. Wilson also sells real estate and had a line on space next to Black Bear Pizza. She convinced Dickerson to join her in starting the boutique. They opened in mid-April.

"I thought, let's just try it out. It's Warsaw, we need something like this here," Wilson said. "I was born and raised here and everyone from Warsaw who has come in here has said, 'this is awesome.'"

The shop features children's and women's clothing, jewelry, home décor, some men's clothing, wax melts and more.

"I like that we brought a sense of style in. We have some western-southern style clothes for kids you do not see around here. People love that," Dickerson said.

We're a farm community and a lot of people like this kind of stuff," Wilson added.

Items are bought through small vendors with most being handmade. Dickerson and Wilson said you won't find what they carry in the big box stores.

"We empower other women and their journeys on what they're doing," Wilson said, as most of what they have come from women ran businesses.
