Northern California man missing; authorities issue Silver Alert for 80-year-old
Authorities have issued a Silver Alert for a Northern California man who went missing in Shasta County on Thursday.
The California Highway Patrol and the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office say Monte Satran, 80, was last seen about 8:15 p.m. along Frances and First streets in Cottonwood, a community 15 miles south of Redding along Interstate 5.
Officials issued the Silver Alert for Shasta, Glenn, Colusa and Yolo counties just before 2 a.m. Friday. Shasta sheriff’s officials say Satran is considered “at-risk,” though the circumstances of why were not known.
Satran went missing after driving away in his vehicle, a 2011 brown Kia Optima with California license plate 6RXS728. Officials also said they had found evidence that Satran’s bank card was used south along I-5 heading toward Yolo County.

Officials said Satran is 5-foot-10 and 160 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes. He was believed to be wearing a black NRA hat, a canvas jacket, flannel shirt, blue jeans and brown boots.
Authorities say that anyone who sees Satran or the vehicle to call 911.
