Northern California Winter Storm: February 24 update at 6 p.m.

Snow is continuing to fall in the Sierra Friday as light rain falls in parts of the Valley. KCRA's weather team is calling Friday an Impact Day for travel impacts from accumulating snow at lower elevations. More than a foot of snow is forecast in the higher elevation passes throughout the day. Interstate 80 reopened with chain controls for passenger vehicles, after having been closed since Thursday. But officials have urged people not to travel to the Sierra on Friday and there have been delays.
