The dry spell that has impacted northern Ohio for weeks is about to come to an end.

The National Weather Service says widespread rain is expected across the region Sunday afternoon and continuing through Wednesday.

This will put an end to a dry spell that began on May 20.

All of northern Ohio − with an exception to a sliver in Lake County − is considered to be in a moderate drought.

The clear skies have been hazy thanks to the wildfires in Canada.

This has prompted another air quality alert for northern Ohio for Friday as conditions could be hazardous for those with medical ailments.
