Thanksgiving 2021 might as well be called "no excuses day" because there's little room for excuses to miss family dinner.

Most stores — aside from a stray Dollar General and CVS — are closed this Thanksgiving. Many restaurants — local and chains — are following suit.

This means the pressure is on to cook a turkey at home as the list of those places serving up a warm dinner with a crew at the ready to clean up the dishes afterward may be few and far between.

In northern Ohio, there's still time to order ahead and have someone else cook up the feast ahead of time so you simply have to warm it once Santa arrives at Macy's Herald Square in New York City.

Where to get meals to go

Acme Fresh Markets are closed on Thanksgiving but the regional grocer is offering up a Thanksgiving Feast, with complete dinner and desert for 10 people for $99.99 that can be picked up ahead of time.

The only catch is you have to place your order by Nov. 21 at https://www.acmestores.com/.

Wooster-based grocer Buehler's Fresh Food is offering an identical deal for a turkey dinner with all fixings at https://www.buehlers.com/ that can be picked up on Thanksgiving Day.

Buehler's also is offering complete dinners for two for $32.99 but is encouraging folks to order ahead and not wait until Thanksgiving Day.

For those confident in their ability to serve up a mean green bean casserole but not so much a turkey, many grocery stores, including Giant Eagle — which has announced its stores will not be open on Thanksgiving Day — are offering precooked one that simply need to be warmed up.

And if you are willing to pick up your meal a day early, D'Agnese's at White Pond Akron is also offering a $99 meal to be warmed up on the big day. For more, visit https://dagneseswhitepond.com/.

Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen is bringing back its Cajun-style whole precooked turkeys for Thanksgiving.

A chain best known for its chicken is once again offering up cooked turkeys — along with chicken, of course — on Thanksgiving Day.

Popeyes Louisiana Chicken is bringing back its Cajun Style Turkeys but the number available will be limited and will vary by location.

Since the chain has many different franchise owners, the price for the turkey that is hand-rubbed and infused with “zesty Louisiana-style seasonings” and comes precooked will vary but last year it was around $40.

Whether a Popeye's location is open on Thanksgiving Day is up to the owner, so it is best to check in with your favorite location or visit https://www.popeyes.com/ to see if it will have any of the turkeys that come fully cooked but frozen.
