Northport man killed in early Wednesday crash, Alabama troopers say

A 25-year-old Northport man died in a single-vehicle crash early Wednesday morning in Tuscaloosa County, according to state troopers.

Troopers said that David J. Lancaster was driving a 2016 Ford F-250 around 1:40 a.m. when the crash occurred on Upper Columbus Road near Sam Sutton Road, about 2 miles north of Northport.

Lancaster's vehicle left the road, struck a ditch and overturned. He was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene.

He was not wearing a seat belt, according to troopers.

Members of the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division are handling the crash investigation..
