Northwest bringing Eli Young Band for campus concert

Mar. 2—The Eli Young Band will headline a concert next month in Maryville, Missouri.

The group has been chosen to perform by the Student Activities Council at Northwest Missouri State University. Doors will open at 7 p.m. with the concert beginning at 8 p.m. on Friday, April 21, in the Carl and Cheryl Hughes Fieldhouse.

Northwest student and employee tickets are $10 in advance or $15 on the day of the concert. Tickets for the public are $20 in advance or $25 on the day of the show. Tickets are available for purchase online at the university's website, www.nwmissouri.edu.

"We chose the Eli Young Band as we felt they would be a good fit for all — country music enthusiasts and non," Trenton Jones, SAC's concert director, said.

The band formed in 2000 at the University of North Texas and has amassed 14 Billboard charting singles, including No. 1 hits "Even If It Breaks Your Heart," "Drunk Last Night" and "Crazy Girl."

Beginning at 4:30 p.m. the day of the concert, there will be a tailgate party in the parking lot of the Hughes Fieldhouse with food vendors and alcoholic beverages will be available to people aged 21 and older.
