Northwest side theater 'Movies 11 at Mill Run' permanently closed

Following last month’s closing of Cinemark Carriage Place Movies 12 on Bethel Road, the Northwest side’s second movie theater played its closing credits on July 31.

Dine-in theater Movies 11 at Mill Run, on 3773 Ridge Mill Drive in Columbus, released a statement earlier this month announcing the venue’s permanent closure.

“The theater’s landlord has decided to demolish the building” said Nalini Laveti, co-owner of Mill Run’s parent company, Midwest Movies.

Residential apartments will be built in the theater’s place, Laveti said.

The building has been offering different iterations of cinema for over three decades. It was erected in 1990 as a Cinemark Theater before Movie Tavern at Mill Run replaced it in October 2007. Then, the theater reopened as Movies 11 at Mill Run in June 2017 with lots of news amenities courtesy of new owners Midwest Movies.

On July 30, Auction Ohio held a public auction of the venue’s interior supplies, advertising “kitchen equipment, bar equipment, posters and projectors.”
