Northwestern reveals uniform combo for Michigan football game

Northwestern is one of those schools that has a lot of different uniform combinations at its disposal. The Under Armour-outfitted program has not only its different combos of purple and white, but also has a black variation it tends to wear at home.

The last two games, both at home, Northwestern showed different looks. It wore all purple against Rutgers but with a white helmet, and the week before, it wore the purple top with black helmets and pants. At Duke, it went with a white jersey and helmet with purple bottoms.

According to the official Wildcats Twitter account, Northwestern will sport a more traditional look, going with the purple helmet and pants with a white jersey.

Though this is the traditional look, it’s the first time this year Northwestern will be outfitted as such. The second road game of the season for the Wildcats, so there haven’t been many opportunities for them to be dressed as such, but even then, NU tends to have a lot of variations, between the jerseys, the pants and even different helmets — perhaps more than you might realize.

It did, however, don this look when it was in the Big Ten Championship game last December, in the loss to Ohio State, and it wore this combination the last time it visited Ann Arbor back in 2015.
