Norway shooting suspect thought 'radicalized Islamist'

STORY: A gunman went on a terrifying rampage in a gay bar and the surrounding streets in Oslo, killing two people and injuring more than 20 on the day the city's LGBTQ community was due to celebrate its annual Pride parade.

Roger Berg, acting head of Norway's intelligence service PST, said the perpetrator, a 42-year-old Norwegian citizen of Iranian origin, had been known to security services since 2015. He added that the terror threat level had been raised from "moderate" to "extraordinary".

The suspect was detained minutes after embarking on the shooting spree, according to police who said they believed he acted alone.
