Norwich man given 2 years in shooting

A Norwich man arrested for his role in a Sept. 29, 2008, shooting on Broadway in Norwich was sentenced Thursday to two years and a day in prison and 30 months of special parole.

Richard J. David, 22, with a last known address on Franklin Street, was sentenced by Judge Susan B. Handy in New London Superior Court. David was one of three men charged after a shooting outside the Wauregan Laundromat.

Police said at least three shots were fired, one almost hitting a bystander.

Police said the targets were two women. No injuries were reported. Two other men, Corey Wynn, 23, of New London, and Merzilas Braboy, 19, of Norwich, were charged in connection with the incident.
