Norwich man sentenced to two years in Broadway shooting

A Norwich man arrested for his role in a Sept. 29, 2008 shooting on Broadway in Norwich was sentenced Thursday to two years and one day in prison and 30 months special parole.Richard J. David, 22, with a last known address on Franklin Street, was sentenced by Judge Susan B. Handy in New London Superior Court. David was one of three men charged in the wake of a shooting outside the Wauregan Laundromat on Broadway. Police said at least three shots were fired, one coming precariously close to an innocent bystander. Police sad the target was two women. No injuries were reported. Two other men, Corey Wynn, 23, of New London and Merzilas Braboy, 19, of Norwich were charged in connection with the incident.
