Norwich, meet Connor Linskey, The Bulletin's newest reporter

I am very excited to begin work at The Bulletin in Norwich! It is a thrill to join a large company like Gannett, as there are many networking opportunities as well as room for growth.

I am excited to work with a team of experienced journalists who can help me hone my craft. Furthermore, I am looking forward to meeting a variety of people in the community in my new role as the public safety and Killingly/Plainfield reporter.

A little background information on me, in May 2018, I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from Roger Williams University in Bristol, Rhode Island. While in college, I was a member of the school’s rowing team as well as a disc jockey at WQRI 88.3 FM, the on-campus radio station. While at the radio station, I had several different talk and music shows. I also trained new disc jockeys on how to use all of the different pieces of equipment. My last semester of college, I began writing for the student newspaper, which sparked my love of being a print reporter.

I have been a professional journalist for the past five years. I began as a freelance reporter for several weekly newspapers in central Connecticut before starting my first full-time reporter position in Oct. 2019 at Wallkill Valley Publications, Inc., a media company that publishes three weekly newspapers in Newburgh, New York. After working there for two years, in Oct. 2021, I began a new position as a staff writer at The Chronicle in Windham, Conn. I have covered nearly everything, from town council meetings to sporting events as well as crime and education. My favorite subject to write about is sports, but I enjoy writing about almost everything, from the complicated town council meeting to nitty-gritty crime.

When I’m not reporting, I can often be found at a sporting event. I frequently attend minor league baseball and ice hockey games throughout the year and also make my way to a few college football games each season. I am a lifelong Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan. When I am not working or at a game, I am most likely spending time with my family or friends. I currently live in Manchester but am planning to move closer to Norwich early next year.

Feel free to say hello to me if you see me out and about in the community or contact me at clinskey@gannett.com.
