Norwood's SKY Restaurant Closes Its Doors

NORWOOD, MA — A popular Norwood restaurant announced it's closing its doors for good. SKY Restaurant of Norwood announced over the weekend that it would close permanently and said economic challenges from closures caused by the coronavirus pandemic were to blame.

In a message to customers on Facebook, restaurant owner Stephen T. Corcoran thanked the staff and loyal customers who made the SKY Restaurant the staple name it was. " I speak for the entire SKY team when I say that we have thoroughly enjoyed serving you and being a part of this wonderful community," Cocoran said.

The post was quickly flooded with over 100 comments and 80 reactions from customers. One customer wrote, "You will be missed! My twin boys were so sad to miss the buffet brunch we had promised for their 10th birthday in June. Chef Mike took great care to make sure my son with Celiac enjoyed himself just as much as everyone else whenever we visited. Thank you."

SKY restaurant, located at 1369 Boston-Providence Turnpike, has been in business for almost 20 years, opening its doors in Norwood in 2002 with an earlier location in Sudbury in 1997. The Sudbury location stayed open until 2010.

Cocoran is also the owner of 3 Restaurant, SKY's sister restaurant in Franklin. Cocoran said 3 Restaurant is not closing and has a very similar menu to SKY.

"Your SKY gift cards and Rewards cards are valid at 3! To welcome you to 3, all SKY Rewards members will receive double points for a limited time," Cocoran wrote.
