Not Again! ‘Game of Thrones’ Finale Features Cameo by Plastic Water Bottle

The convenience stores of Westeros were busy during production on the final season of “Game of Thrones.”

Eagle-eyed viewers of Sunday’s series finale spotted a cameo from what appeared to be a plastic water bottle in a scene featuring the surviving leaders of the kingdom following the great Battle of Kings Landing that unfolded last week.

It’s almost but not completely tucked behind the left boot of Samwell Tarly (John Bradley) in a scene that occurs about 46 minutes into the 85-minute episode on HBO Go.

This is the second continuity gaffe to strike the hit HBO series’ final season. Just two weeks ago, a take-out coffee cup popped up in a banquet scene featuring Emilia Clarke’s Daenarys.

The network digitally deleted that anachronistic cameo after fessing up to the error. “The latte that appeared in the episode was a mistake,” an HBO rep said in a statement, adding: “Daenerys had ordered an herbal tea.”

HBO did not immediately respond to requests for comment, but the internet was quick to weigh in on the matter.
