Not Everyone’s Happy With Stella McCartney’s Olympic Kit

Yesterday, Stella McCartney presented her Olympic kit collection for Team GB, 100 days before the start of Rio 2016.

Flanked by budding sports stars such as Jessica Ennis-Hill, Tom Daley, Olivia Breen, Alistair and Jonathan Brownlee and Laura Trott, the designer looked proud and poised in black stilettos, navy trousers, an ivory shirt and a tamarillo-red coat draped imposingly over her shoulders (her own design, naturally).

But the kit, designed using a distinctly British mix of red, white and blue and featuring a heraldic coat of arms, hasn’t appeased everybody. The general consensus on Twitter is that the kit is a bit uninspiring and Daley’s minuscule swimming trunks haven’t won fans over.

“Looks like they forgot to finish the swimming trunks!” read one tweet. “I wish they’d make Tom Daley’s pants bigger. So inappropriate,” read another.

However the man himself seems pretty content with his attire. Daley, in the above video, cites his kit as “functional but amazing”.
