It’s not the heat as Orlando among most humid cities in America

As Orlando residents complain about the accosting humidity outside, a recent study supports their point by listing the City Beautiful as one of the country’s most sweat-inducing cities.

Orlando is humid.

How humid?

Apparently, it ranks No. 15 on a list of the most humid cities in the country, according to a list by House Method — a house consumer research group.

Although the City Beautiful was not No. 1, it was joined by several other Florida cities on the list. Fort Myers and Jacksonville ranked just above Orlando at 13 and 14, but Gainesville was several places higher at No. 7, beating out Baton Rouge, Louisiana at No. 8. However, a Louisiana city beat out all of Florida at the No. 1 spot.

Lake Charles, Louisiana, earned the title of most humid city in the country.

The state with the largest number of cities on the list was Texas, including Brownsville, Port Arthur, Victoria, Corpus Christi and Houston.

Although Orlando ranked No. 15 on the House Method list, it topped MyDatingAdviser.com’s list of the 200 sweatiest cities in the country.

But as for summer heat this year, temperatures have been running highs above the norm, according to the National Weather Service, which recorded both June and July as having above-average aggregate peak temperatures. July was so hot that it only registered five days of temperatures below or at the monthly average of 91 degrees.

And it does not seem like Orlando is cooling down anytime soon, either.

A new study from the First Street Foundation predicted Orlando might only get hotter in the future, as its 30-year forecast calls for Orlando’s heat index to hit nearly 108 degrees, almost three times as much as it does currently, which is an average of seven days a year.
