'This is not just my graduation, it's ours.' Graduate shares moment with immigrant parents

A recent University of Redlands graduate in California honored two people who helped get her to where she is: her parents.

“This is not just my graduation," Debbie Ly posted on Instagram. "It's ours."

Debbie’s mother is originally from Laos and her father is from Vietnam. When they immigrated to the United States, Debbie says they worked hard to provide for the family and didn’t get to attend college themselves. Their newly-graduated daughter couldn't leave the ceremony without recognizing their support and love over the years.

Watch this first-generation graduate honor her parents in a special way.
