Like It or Not, Marvel Is Going on a 'Vision Quest'

If you thought the shocking conclusion to Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was the end of the road for WandaVision stories, then you, dear Marvel viewer, must have forgotten about Vision. He was decked-out in white after getting his mind messed up at the end of the titular limited series, taking off in preparation for his next reintroduction back into the MCU. According to Variety, Disney and Marvel are currently developing a spin off series titled Vision Quest, which is also the name of an Avengers story focused on the porcelain-looking android.

Paul Bettany is returning to the role of Vision, with WandaVision head writer Jac Schaefer along for the ride as well. Though plot details are currently under wraps, the original story focuses on Vision regaining his memory after learning that his children with Wanda were nothing more than figments of their imagination. The story takes place over 11 issues of a comic book titled West Coast Avengers, which featured a lineup of Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, Vision, Tigra, U.S. Agent, and Wonder Man.

Speaking of Wonder Man, Vision Quest could follow the recently announced Wonder Man solo series, starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. The Aquaman actor will play the role of Simon Williams, a.k.a. Wonder Man—a Stark Industries competitor who is given super-human abilities by Zemo before getting brain-washed by Ultron. Wonder Man has a long, complicated history in Marvel comics, but the important thing to know is that he starts out as a villain who later views Vision as his brother. (Both have a shared connection with Ultron). The MCU will likely have to tweak Wonder Man's story substantially, however, especially since Ben Kingsley's Iron Man 3 villain is also set to make an appearance.

If those weren't enough WandaVision sequels for you, don't forget that Katherine Hahn will reprise her role as the witch Agatha Harkness in the Agatha: Coven of Chaos series, set for a Winter 2023 release. Teyonah Parris's character, Monica Rambeau, will also show up in The Marvels film, due out in July 2023. Wonder Man and Vision Quest are sure to follow shortly after—willing that out brains can still handle that much from the WandaVision-verse.
