Not sure what to do for Father's Day? Here's a list of things to do in the Gardner area.

If you are looking for ways to celebrate dad this Sunday for Father's Day, you don't have to search far for great food to share with him and fun activities to create memories with those special men in your life.

Greater Gardner has several places to take dad, grandpa, or any figure father that is worth celebrating this Sunday. Here are a few ideas if you're not quite sure what to do with dad or grandpa.

Quick bites to have with dad

A Baldwinville classic, Lee's Hot Dog Stand is the place to take dad for a quick lunch. They don't just offer hot dogs but a variety of sandwiches, desserts, seafood platters, side dishes, and hamburgers.

The hot dog stand at 31 Central St. has outdoor seating if the family wants to eat there. They also do take out if a picnic at one of the many parks in the Gardner area is something dad would enjoy.

If dad or grandpa likes jazz and beer take him to the Gardner Ale House at 74 Parker St. for Sunday brunch and live jazz music. Brunch at the Ale House is every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

If the family is looking for a different dining experience, then head over to Bull Spit Brewery at 7 Summer Dr. in Winchendon. The brewery has an outdoor entertainment space where live music, outdoor games, bar, and a BBQ Bull Spit food truck is located during the weekends.

Indoor and outdoor fun for dad and the whole family

The newly opened Launch trampoline park at 118 Commercial Road, Leominster, is a place for both dad and the kids to have some fun this weekend. The park is not just wall to wall trampolines, but they also offer an OMNI Virtual Reality experience, a full arcade, bowling allies, a KRAVE pizza restaurant, and much more.

If dad or grandpa is more of an outdoor man, then plan a hike in one of the many state parks and conservation areas in Greater Gardner. Dunn Park, Lake Dennison Recreation Area, Rome Conservation Area, to name a few. Along with hiking trials these parks also have waterfronts fit for kayaking or canoeing.

Ice cream shops for the sweet tooth-loving dads

Does dad or grandpa have a sweet tooth then take them to the several ice cream shops in the Greater Gardner area.

Murdock Farm & Dairy Bar is perfect spot for the family to enjoy fresh homemade ice cream while watching the farm's cows and chickens wander around the fields. The farm and dairy bar is located at 62 Elmwood Rd. in Winchendon.

The newest addition to the long list of ice cream places in the area is Izzie's Ice Cream at 277 Gardner Rd. Templeton. They have 24 flavors on their menu from Blueberries' n Cream to maple walnut flavor.

From burgers to ice cream Lickity Splitz at 231 Main St., Winchendon has a wide range of items on their menu. This ice cream shop has a food item for every craving a customer could have. There is outdoor and indoor seating at the shop, but take-out is also available.
